Community Impact Programs
“So You Wanna Be” Youth Career Seminars Our youth career seminars target Birmingham area students and engages them in panel discussions about various featured professions. The professional panels discuss their backgrounds, motivations, and life experiences followed by a Q&A session led by the students. These personal exchanges of information serve as fuel to the spirits and minds of area student participants.
Economic Empowerment Series The BULYP Economic Empowerment seminars are intended to improve financial literacy and prepare young professionals for financial success. A signature program of the BULYP, the financial literacy seminars are free and open to the public and is intended to provide the surrounding community with applicable and valuable information from experienced professionals in the industry.
National Day of Service Annually the BULYP participates in the National Urban League Young Professionals National Day of Service. The National Day of Service targets our peer group and encourages community outreach. The initiative also hopes to promote volunteerism amongst young African-American professionals.
Annual I am Empowered Awards Gala The purpose of this event is to honor young professionals in the Greater Birmingham area whose volunteer service exhibits the highest standards of dedication and accomplishment. Organizations are given the opportunity to come together and celebrate one another—acknowledging the great work that young professionals are doing throughout the Birmingham community.
